The first is to go to a mega toy store in your locality and the second is to visit a mega toy store online – whichever works best for you.

An ideal toy store will cater to children of all ages. They will also stock toys of different kinds. DVD Rental for Dreamers

This article has two parts, as its subject demands. The first is how the permanently dreamy can get the best out of a DVD rental service and the second is a quick guide to the films they should watch once they've got it.

What does this article mean by a dreamer? You would know the type if you saw them: head in the clouds, distracted look on their face, always looking away slightly or not quite of this earth are all terms which could profitably describe such people.

The main barrier to this people in getting on board with DVD rental, then, is their natural disposition which tends to rebel against solid things such as prices and the modern distractions of website recommendations, film lists and other hallmarks of popular culture.

They're also fairly unlikely to go for the thoroughly modern delights of game rental services.

So how can such people take advantage of DVD rental and why would they want to?

Let's start with the why. Films are perfect for those who live in their own dream world - there's no human interaction required and they can fully indulge their idle fantasies.

In fact, it could profitably be argued, though its not an argument for here, that the dreamy and the cinema are made for one another.

Witness, for example, the appropriately named film 'The Dreamers' a tale about three young people off in their own world who also, not coincidentally, are cinephiles.

Likewise, in 'The Science of Sleep' - a film about dreaming and sleep whose characters are just as away with the fairies - films and TV invade the dreams of the protagonist.

These films are just two examples of DVDs which could give succour to the perennially cloudy headed - there are many more.

'Ghost World' is a good example of this type of genre - a film about two somewhat feckless and certainly dreamy teenagers very slowly coming of age, though barely maturing.

Another good example is 'Brazil' - a film directed by ex Monty Python member Terry Gilliam - in which a man dreams his way out of a dystopian future.

These films are available from large DVD rental sites such as Lovefilm, Blockbuster and from smaller companies such as Cinema Paradiso which is itself named after a film popular with dreamers.

Getting the films at home has the added bonus that dreamers don't need to be confronted by the plastic-coated nightmare that is the modern multiplex.

Avoiding playing ten pounds for popcorn is absolutely essential for continuing to dream, the price is well-known as a rude awakening.

Geeks On Site on Motorola Droid X

Since it came out this past July 15th, the Motorola Droid X immediately became the hot item. After hearing it sold out the very first day, what else can we say about this little "hottie," but that it is the object of secret (or totally open) desire of many people all over the world. Even now, while writing this article, we secretly hope that Motorola reads it and likes it so much so they decide to honor us with a couple of little Droids.

It seems that this time Motorola easily managed to close the mouths of even the biggest critics they have. How can a phone be that good, you may ask? Read on.

To start with, the Droid X has in our humble opinion "to die for" looks. And, even though it is the largest phone on the US market today, with its dimensions being 5 by 2.6 by 0.4 inches, its features make its size a minor flaw on the possible cons list. One more possible advantage of its size? You will have a reason (if you are looking for one) not to buy this phone for your kids, because it will not comfortably fit in small pockets therefore being more easy to lose. (We are sure Motorola can recommend something more appropriate for your tweens and teens.)

Its screen of 4.3-inch, 854 by 480 has a slightly higher resolution than other Android phones. And no need to panic button-lovers, because below the screen there are still four hardware buttons. The Droid X has the Swype text-entry method, which can make your typing even faster and easier. If you have to type in URLs, passwords, or (proper) names of course, you will have to type them by yourself.

We found another feature, an improvement you will love, the noise elimination. This time Motorola tried something new, they installed three microphones, two of which are used to cancel out the noise. In comparison to the HDC Incredible, we felt the Droid was better. However, if we talk about the earpiece, the Incredible's is slightly better than the Droid's, but the difference is pretty small.

Two extra features we think you should be happy about are, first accurate voice dialing over Bluetooth, which is thus far not so common among Android phones, second is Adobe Flash, which is about to come out as a software upgrade later this summer. This makes the Droid one of the first phones to run Adobe Flash.

Now because the Droid X uses Verizon's EV-DO Rev A network, it has excellent download speed, and it works as a WPA2-protected, 802.11g Wi-Fi hotspot for up to five devices, so you could have up to 2Mbps to download onto a PC. Uploads for now are around 350Kbps. The cost of hotspot usage is $20 per month, this is an extra on your contract and you get only 2GB of hotspot usage, therefore every extra GB is an additional $50.

The Droid uses the 1570 mAh battery, which gives you hours and hours of talk time. We do think that because of its big screen you might want to charge it on a daily basis, however, we are pretty sure that a dying battery will be the last thing you will have to complain about. Moreover, Motorola will launch an even bigger 1930 mAh extended battery, which is 1mm thicker, but more powerful obviously, than the 1570 one.

Now let us move onto the operating system and software. The Droid X uses the Android 2.1 with the latest version of Motorola's MotoBlur extensions. It offers a single interface to sign into lots of different mail services, as well as social networks such as Facebook, and photo sharing services. Again, later this summer they're launching an Android 2.2 update, which supports Adobe Flash 10.1. To make it even easier for you, the Droid mixes Google and Exchange calendars, as well as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace, so you can see all of your friends' updates. However, if you find your phonebook's mixed list is too big, you can always choose to see only one of them. So, even though you might find "all-in-one" features very useful, you may come to the same conclusion we did: up-to-the-minute updates from Twitter and support for Facebook walls can be overwhelming. Blur, however, you cannot turn off, but you can try not signing into various accounts at once, so it won't add that information. You also might find that Blur slows down the Droid's performance and Web browsing, and freezes occasionally. On the other hand, Google Maps Navigation works like a Swiss watch.

In conclusion, even though we think the Droid still needs improvement on some minor things, it is one of the best Android phones available on the market. For all the techies out there, we say keep your hopes up, because Motorola is planning on launching the Droid 2, and it looks like it will be pretty soon. For the rest of us, who would be satisfied with this not so perfect version, the price is $299.99 with a two-year contract, minus a $100 mail-in rebate. All Verizon Wireless customers whose contracts end in 2010 will have the option of paying $299.99 too. Geeks On Site says: Welcome to the future; long live the Androids!
Three Things to Consider to Landscape Your Garden

The art of landscape is not a small task; you have to put a lot of time and energy on it. Let's discuss a few tips to help you save money and time before you decide to contract a professional for the job.First thing to consider is the final result you want to achieve. You need to take some time and think about the design you desire. Only you are the responsible for the style and the functionality of your landscape. Would you like to have an entertainment space? Do you like to have barbecues? If you have children, are you going to leave some space for a playground or a swimming pool? Also it's important if you know beforehand what type of plants you will have there. A good starting point is to concentrate on the area where you will be spending most of your time.
Stop right there! Don't hire a pro just yet. Think about it carefully before doing it. It's expensive to hire an independent designer these days and you can always find on the internet free plans or advise at specialized forums. But if you have a complicated terrain, hiring a professional to give you good advice can save you a lot of money and time.
When thinking about the design of your landscape, you must consider the actual design of your home. Don't think on putting some formal gardens around your house if the design is a rural cottage. Your lifestyle is also an important consideration. Are you willing to put time and effort on taking care of the plants and herbs you put on your yard? If you do, there's no problem and you can plant them, but if you have other hobbies to spend your time with, then think on a design that won't need to much caring. You can also read here about the several landscape styles to choose from when designing your garden:

Formal Style. This design is all about perfect geometrical shapes and straight lines. In this case you will arrange the plants in order.

Informal Style. This style is best suited when you are thinking on planting cozy cottages. You can use curved edge beds and place your plants randomly instead of a formal arrangement.

English Garden. Harmony between the garden and the architecture of the house is what this style is all about.

Oriental Garden. This is the best design for small landscapes. A combination of water, rocks and evergreens is used and when using different types of plants you can create interesting angles.

Woodland. It's a design recommended for a home with a wooded backyard and an inclined ground.

Tips on how to Select the Proper Inground Swimming Pool Pump

Greater is just not better when selecting a Ingound Swimming Pool Pump. What you need to do is use the smallest dimension pump possible for you swimming pool. To choose the correct pump, you may consult a pool pump-sizing chart. In technical terms you wish to match the hydraulic traits of the pump to the piping and the pool's stream characteristics. If you are heating you pool by photo voltaic, you additionally want to think about extra capability to pump the water by means of the collectors.

A Examine conducted by the State of Florida exhibits that ¾ hp pump is generally ample for residential pools. You may decrease the size of you Pool Pump by lowering the programs hydraulic resistance by, substituting a big filter (50% increased than the designed circulate charge) and reducing pipe length or increasing diameter. Additionally substitute ninety-degree elbow pipes with 45-degree or even flexible piping. Besides, lowering the pool water's circulation resistance can prevent up to forty% in electrical energy use.

One other option to save vitality is to lower the quantity you inground swimming pool pump runs to 6-hours a day. Mainly you run the pump while your including Pool Chemical compounds, and for automated particles filtering. Longer circulation occasions wastes energy. Many individuals suppose that you must maintain the pump running to keep the expansion of algae down, however the most effective energy acutely aware effort is to make use of chemicals in the water and scrub the partitions when needed. You probably have an occasion the place the water would not appear clear then increase the pump-on time by ½ hour increments. Studies have shown that most of the people had been happy with the water quality decreasing their pump time all the way down to even 3 hours a day. These brief cycle-on instances ought to hold you pool clean all day.
Also keep in mind to keep all particles clear of drains and skimmers. Clogged areas make your swimming pool pump work more durable thus using extra energy. And backwash only when wanted as a result of not enough requires your pool pump to work more durable, and too regularly wastes water.
In a nutshell, sizing your Inground Swimming Pool Pump to the right dimension in your swimming pool, and making power aware efforts to scale back pool pump on time can you with lower energy prices and serving to our environment, thus helping and doing part in lowering your carbon footprint.

Fun Games

Escaping the consoles for a quick fix of online gaming.

While the consoles and the home pc have the vast majority of of the glory in the fun games court, you can find a thriving culture of small-time independent game vendors and home-made video games that, even while modest in size and retro in display, different take on giant techniques of which oftentimes big budget gamers don't pay attention to. XLR8R takes a glance at a few of the best on the world wide web.

Bloody Fun Day

This straight forward method label hearkens back to 16-bit sprite fun games goodness. This leaves a person in the situation where one of three adaptations of Dying him/herself as you crop the spirits of numerous beast varieties while not allowing your lifeforce (deathforce?) to lower. Ultimately, Bloody Fun Day suggests the question, "Can even the Grim Reaper fight the sweet draw of attractive and lovable critters?" The answer will be yes—yes, he can.

The Majesty of Colors

About as weird and wonderful as they get, The Majesty of Colors starts with the pursuing prologue: "Last night I dreamed I was an immense beast, floating in darkness of fun games. I knew nothing of the surface world until I fell in love with the majesty of colors…" Heavy. Trying to play as an undersea monster, you should lead your tentacles to either aid or damage everyone on the beachfront—from little ones in floating devices to scuba divers that can kill you. By using a shockingly basic sound effect line up and numerous endings, Majesty of Colors will result in you scratching your head in amusement for a bit.

Don't Look Back

If you can consider Pitfall, although much more sad and weird, subsequently it is possible to have a good idea of exactly what Don't Look Back concerns. Playing fun games within the Greek chimera of Orpheus and Eurydice, you need to bring your tiny pixel person towards the Underworld as you actually evade numerous snakes and spiders as you go along. Having said that, you may well be your own worst adversary, given that the creative designers took the subject of this fun game extremely seriously. Bonus: That one also can be played off-line.

You Have to Burn the Rope

You Have to Burn the Rope leaves a twist on the 8-bit-esque platforming. You get the part of a bowler-wearing, marshmallow-like little guy who throws battle axes and needs to traverse a single small dungeon so that you can wipe out a single boss, the Grinning Colossus. You'll find a couple methods to achieve this, nonetheless the easiest should be to merely be aware to the title of the game (sensing a pattern here?). The overall game presents text suggestions to you the complete way through and you cannot pass away. Uncomplicated, habit forming, and creepy. It is also worth saying that dev offers a Dance Dance-type game that features a Viking with his tool out there and a title that will involve not making direct eye-contact on public transportation.

Don't Sh*t Your Pants

Yet a further video game that takes its title to heart, Don't Sh*t Your Pants is both the title of the game and about all the instruction you will get with this game. Similarly to other Sierra titles, DSYP leaves an individual within the role of a schlub like Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force that is only 40 seconds away from a big disaster. The only elements you possess to assist with to complete your intention are a door, the clothes on your back, and classic good judgment. Therefore, much like the older Sierra video games, looking about and trying anything is the only way out of the backdoor problems. The online game features numerous different achievements that will encourage many end results. Acquire all and you turn into the Sh*t King. Really.
